Bernie Blizzard, Cemetery Director addressing the IT Tech Students about his appreciation to them
On Friday, October 21st, the Butler Tech IT Tech program performed their annual community service project in honor of Veterans Day. Thanks to the VA Department of Voluntary Services and the National Cemetery Administration, our students were welcomed to perform landscaping chores at the national cemetery and to offer fruit to the veterans at the VA hospital. We would like thank our sponsors at Main Street Market in Fairfield, and Kirsten Spicer, CEO of “Two Woman In A Kitchen, Inc.”, for offering up $250 worth of bananas and oranges to pass out to our military veterans as a small token of appreciation.
Ami B., an Edgewood junior, states that “It was really life changing to go and talk to all of the veterans up there, and I was enthralled to listen to all of their war stories. “Seth S., a Middletown senior, mentions that a retired Navy Captain patient told him that “It warms my heart to see how you all care.”; a life changing event for students in appreciation of Veterans Day.
Special thanks goes out to Tammy Tribbey, Butler Tech Transportation and David Edmundson, Butler Tech English Teacher, by providing help and assistance in making this a rewarding experience for our students here at Butler Tech.
