ABOUT WOKINI

Options Academy – Wokini is the alternative school for Lakota students in grades 9-12. The program is a partnership between Butler Tech and Lakota Local Schools.

• Wokini offers AP, College Prep and Foundations Level courses.
• Wokini students are still members of their home school and can participate in ALL school activities, such as dances, sports, and club activities.
• Students’ high school diploma is awarded by home school and reads Lakota West High School or Lakota East High School.
• Wokini is a small program that serves no more than 66 students at a time.
• Wokini uses an online curriculum that allows students to work at their own pace.
• Many Wokini students complete their required courses and graduate early.
• Wokini students earn an average of over 6 full credits a year.
• Wokini’s unique program allows students who are credit deficient to catch up.
• Wokini has a team approach to teaching that includes three core academic teachers, Student Advocate who holds an LISW, Administrator, and Administrative Assistant.
