ABOUT WOKINI
Options Academy – Wokini is the alternative school for Lakota students in grades 9-12. The program is a partnership between Butler Tech and Lakota Local Schools.
| • Wokini offers AP, College Prep and Foundations Level courses. |
| • Wokini students are still members of their home school and can participate in ALL school activities, such as dances, sports, and club activities. |
| • Students’ high school diploma is awarded by home school and reads Lakota West High School or Lakota East High School. |
| • Wokini is a small program that serves no more than 66 students at a time. |
| • Wokini uses an online curriculum that allows students to work at their own pace. |
| • Many Wokini students complete their required courses and graduate early. |
| • Wokini students earn an average of over 6 full credits a year. |
| • Wokini’s unique program allows students who are credit deficient to catch up. |
| • Wokini has a team approach to teaching that includes three core academic teachers, Student Advocate who holds an LISW, Administrator, and Administrative Assistant. |
