‘Glove Aid’ solves challenge for woman with cerebral palsy
Could you put on a latex glove using only one hand? That’s the challenge a woman with cerebral palsy faced. She needs to wear gloves for her job – but always required assistance. She craved the independence that would come from not having to rely on others to properly fit the glove to her hand.

A group of precision machining students at Colerain High School solved the challenge with a simple device they called “Glove Aid.” They designed, programmed, manufactured and tested the product. It’s a metal piece with four prongs that fits to a rail. With one hand, you can easily fit the glove to the device, which holds the glove in place and expands the opening. From there, the user can slide his or her hand into the glove with ease.
