Welders are essential to our daily lives. Their work is used
in nearly every industry as the construction and repair of buildings,
bridges, ships, automobiles, spacecraft, medical equipment, food
equipment and thousands of manufactured products all depend on
the welding trade. Butler Tech’s full and part-time programs
open doors to job opportunities in pipeline welding, steel fabrication,
boiler making, robotics, production welding, metallurgy, weldment
design, sales, equipment repair and welding testing.
FULL-TIME PROGRAM (600 hours)
Our full-time welding program teaches structural steel fabrication, maintenance
and repair with studies in Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG),
and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG). We also offer job search skills training and
opportunities to test for structural codes standards. Full-time evening program
begins in the Fall.
PART-TIME PROGRAM (56 hours for part-time basics)
Our part-time welding program is designed for students who need
to take weekend courses or for practicing welders who want
to learn a new area. The program teaches the basics
of Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and Tungsten
Inert Gas (TIG). There are no prerequisites for the part-time
program. Evening and weekend classes offered a various times
each year.
