If the words “to protect and serve” echo in your head as you think about a new career, our Police Academy can take you to the front lines of law enforcement in Ohio. Butler Tech’s Law Enforcement Institute is an approved Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. Our instructors are recognized experts in local, county, state and federal law enforcement, and we challenge our students to meet high academic and physical demands. The Basic Police Academy teaches through real-life scenarios and hands-on instruction. At graduation, students have the experience to serve in a variety of police, investigation and security jobs. 

CERTIFICATIONS      
Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Certification Exam

SALARY RANGE        
$25,000 to $50,000 annually, dependent on agency and location

PROGRAM TIMES      
Full-time day program is 16 weeks.
Day academy meets Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Day academy begins in January, March, July and September.

Full-time evening program is 32 weeks.
Evening academy meets Monday-Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
