The Equine Science program promotes a comprehensive
horsemanship program for high school juniors and seniors. This program
provides students with a firm foundation in equine breeding, genetics,
nutrition, selection, evaluation and management. Students are also
introduced to basic riding and training methods and hone these skills
with our on site horse herd. The Natural Science Center has state
of the art laboratory and riding facilities to provide all weather
instruction. This combination of classroom knowledge and hands-on
experience prepares students to compete in the economically diverse
and exciting horse business.
Equine Science is offered at the Natural Science Center, located
in Monroe.
Student
Organization
As club members, students can develop their leadership skills; compete at local, state and national levels; travel, and have lots of fun! Club activities include officer elections, meetings, fundraisers, service projects and social events. Career-technical student organizations are a wonderful way to build a resume while meeting new friends and having a great time.
All Equine Science students are members of The
National FFA Organization. |
