The Introduction to Health Science program provides a comprehensive health curriculum to freshman and sophomores with an interest in health.  Health Foundations I introduces students to the overall concept health and wellness with a focus on developing skills to prevent disease.  Health Foundations II provides insight into the history of medicine, medical terminology, the anatomy and physiology of the human body and the practicing world of healthcare.

  • Nutrition
  • Physical activity
  • Growth and development
  • Substance Abuse
  • Cancer
  • Other current health issues
  • History of medicine
  • Interpersonal dynamics and communication
  • Legal and ethical principles within healthcare
  • The body systems
  • Current issues in healthcare
  • Careers in healthcare

This course is best suited for students wishing to learn more about health and the healthcare industry.  The knowledge gained in these courses will provide a solid foundation for advancement to the Health Technology Program at Greentree Health Science Academy or the Healthcare Services Program at Colerain.

Introduction to Health Science is offered at Colerain and Middletown.
