Human Sciences & Healthcare

You care for other people. You want to make their lives better. It’s who you are. If this describes you, you’ll find your calling in the programs in the Human Sciences and Healthcare cluster. These courses range from those that focus on the care and wellness of the family to those that prepare you for a career on the cutting edge of modern medicine. Follow your heart and be a caregiver.

Options Academy

There isn’t just one path to the education you need. Maybe a different approach is what will work for you. That’s what Butler Tech’s Options Academies are all about. Education that’s tailored to the way you learn. Teachers who help you work at the pace that’s right for you. A focus on giving you all of the tools you need to succeed. You will find yourself achieving things you never thought were possible when you choose a different path in an Options Academy.

Public Safety

When lives are in danger, it takes a special kind of person to answer the call for help. Somebody who will put themself in harm’s way to help a stranger. Somebody who will run into a burning building when everyone else is running out. Maybe that somebody is you. The programs in the Public Safety cluster will train you to be a first responder with the skills to answer that call for help. You supply the courage.

Life Sciences

The diversity of life on our planet is a source of endless discovery. From the building blocks of life through the study of biological systems to the application of this knowledge for man’s benefit, life sciences are interwoven with our daily existence. Whether your goal is doing advanced research, or healing someone’s family pet, the Life Sciences programs are a great place to start.

Skilled Trades

You’re at your best when you’re building something. You have the vision to look at a pile of lumber and see a house, or a box of parts and see a machine. You know how things work, and you’re usually the one who can fix them when they don’t. The Skilled Trades programs will harness and focus your native talents, and make you the craftsman you always knew you could be.

Transition to Work

A life of independence and self-sufficiency is what we all strive for. For some, it’s easy to accomplish. Others may need a helping hand to learn how to deal with life beyond high school. Fortunately, the programs in the Transition to Work cluster provide just that sort of help.

The goal of these programs is to help young adults with disabilities to obtain competitive employment. Based in an adult environment, this 13th/14th year option excels at preparing students for the world of work.
