- Students must purchase an electrical tool kit through Butler Tech
- Students will keep the tool kit after the program
- All applicants must be approved by the high school enrollment team and the student’s home school counselor.

Power your future with hands-on training in the electrical trades.
The Butler Tech Electrical Technology program equips students with the technical skills and industry certifications needed to launch a high-demand career in the construction, manufacturing, and industrial maintenance fields. Through hands-on lab-based training, students gain the technical knowledge, safety awareness, and confidence needed to begin work as an entry-level electrical technician or apprentice.
Students learn to safely install, maintain, and repair basic electrical systems found in homes, businesses, and industrial settings. Alongside core electrical skills, the program includes basic construction site skills.
Course Work
Our Electrical Technology one-year program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive skill set that seamlessly integrates into their school day, ensuring they have the opportunity to enter a union apprenticeship or technician role.
The curriculum covers key areas including:
- Construction site safety
- Construction math
- Tools
- Introduction to Material Handling
- Safety for Electricians
- Introduction to Electrical Circuits
- National Electrical Code
- Outlet, device, pull, and junction boxes
- Wireways, raceways, and fittings
- Electrical construction documents
Credentials
During the program, students will complete 400 hours of classroom and lab-based instruction to earn their NCCER Core and NCCER Electrical Level I credentials. Students will complete year one of the ALLIANCE electrical training curriculum, recognized with IBEW.
