Apprenticeship Day 2023

Butler Tech recently held its annual Apprenticeship Day event where more than a dozen representatives from local trade groups met with students to discuss their industry, training, and employment opportunities. The event focused on informing the students of potential apprenticeships for construction laborers, electricians, insulators, ironworkers, plasterers/cement masons, roofers, sheet metal workers, painters, plumbers/pipefitters, bricklayers, and operating engineers.

Some of the hot topics of discussion focused on the requirements and characteristics the companies are looking for in an employee to ensure success as well as the overall costs and benefits of an apprenticeship program for students.

Butler Tech Adult Education representative Kelly Poole was also in attendance to provide information on additional training options after high school through Butler Tech. In-demand careers in one of five Industrial Technology program options include HVAC/R, welding, maintenance technology, computer-aided design, and utility pipeline tech.
