Aviation Education Hanger made possible thanks to numerous partners

Update

Butler Tech is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Aviation Education Hangar at Middletown Regional Airport. This $15 million project, set to break ground in October 2024, is made possible by the generous contributions from various partners:

  • Butler County Commissioners: $7 million
  • City of Middletown: $500,000
  • JobsOhio Site Inventory Program: $1 million
  • Butler Tech: $6.5 million

This state-of-the-art 28,000-square-foot facility will provide students with hands-on learning experiences in aviation maintenance, engineering, private piloting, and unmanned aircraft systems. The strategic location of Middletown Airport, near major airports and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, offers students unparalleled opportunities to learn directly from industry professionals and engage in real-world aviation activities.

At Butler Tech, we are dedicated to transforming lives by making our students career-ready and college-prepared. Our new aviation hangar will provide a dynamic and immersive educational experience, ensuring students graduate with the expertise and confidence to excel in high-demand aviation careers.

The project has received significant funding support, with the JobsOhio Site Inventory Program (OSIP) grant being the final crucial piece that allowed us to move forward.”This OSIP grant is a crucial piece of the puzzle allowing Butler Tech and our partners to begin immediate construction,” said Jon Graft, Superintendent/CEO of Butler Tech. “With all this funding secured and the recent FAA approval for the Air Frame and Power certification, we can now transform the site into a hub of aviation education, providing students with hands-on learning opportunities and preparing them for high-demand careers in the aviation industry.”

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey, empowering our students to reach new heights in their educational and professional endeavors!
