BT Celebrates SkillsUSA Success and New Regional Officer

Update

Forty-four Butler Tech students spent two days at the SkillsUSA Ohio Fall Leadership Conference, engaging in high-level professional development designed to strengthen essential career skills. From interview techniques and employment readiness to professionalism and workplace communication, our students approached every session with maturity, enthusiasm, and a drive to grow as future professionals.

During the Regional Officer Election process, our five voting delegates gained firsthand experience in leadership advocacy, networking with peers from across the state, and navigating the full election cycle. Their preparation and engagement helped set the tone for a strong showing by our candidates.

We are proud to share that Chase McDonald, a junior in the Digital Media program, was elected to serve as a Southwest Regional Officer through January 2027. All four officer candidates collaborated with our Graphic Design program to develop polished campaign materials, delivered thoughtful speeches, and two advanced to the impromptu question round before Chase secured his regional position.

Our students demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and teamwork from beginning to end, representing Butler Tech with excellence throughout the conference.
