BT Doubles LPN and LPN-to-RN Bridge Enrollment with West Chester Expansion

Update

A modern Bioscience Center with red and tan sections, large windows, and a "bt" logo. People walk toward the entrance, surrounded by landscaped plants, under a partly cloudy sky—a hub for innovative science research.Butler Tech Adult Education is doubling capacity for its Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) and LPN to RN Bridge programs through the expansion of the Butler Tech Bioscience Center, significantly increasing access to accelerated nursing education across Southwest Ohio.

The expanded facility adds five classrooms and two advanced simulation labs for Adult Education, increasing annual nursing enrollment by approximately 140 additional seats beginning in 2026. This expansion builds on the Butler Tech LeSourdsville Adult campus footprint, creating a centralized healthcare education hub closer to downtown Cincinnati and the region’s major healthcare systems.

“Bioscience Center will provide additional space, new equipment, and allow for additional cohorts across our already successful healthcare programs,” said Butler Tech Adult Education Director Dr. Sarah DeLong. “This expansion will also allow Butler Tech to add additional programs over the next five years. It is important to continue expanding so that any student interested in healthcare has a seat.”

Programs are taught by experienced healthcare professionals and consistently deliver strong outcomes, including a 93% NCLEX-PN credential passing rate for the Licensed Practical Nursing program (Ohio Higher Education Information System, 2024–2025).

In January 2026, Butler Tech celebrated the graduation of its inaugural LPN to RN Bridge cohort. Alum Chloe Pruett, who earned her LPN at Butler Tech in 2022, returned to complete the first LPN to RN Bridge program.

“I recommend Butler Tech to everyone I come in contact with related to healthcare program needs and interests,” Pruett said. “I am forever thankful for Butler Tech Adult Education. My life has now been positively changed twice thanks to their programs and instructors.”

Designed for working Licensed Practical Nurses seeking to advance their careers, the LPN to RN Bridge program offers a flexible hybrid model that includes one day of on-campus lab instruction per week, one to two days of clinical placements, and online coursework.

With expanded space and increased capacity, Butler Tech will now offer quarterly start dates for both the LPN and LPN to RN Bridge programs.

“The expansion of adult healthcare programs at the West Chester Campus positions Butler Tech as a one-stop regional hub for healthcare talent for both adults and high school students,” said Assistant Superintendent Nick Linberg. “By aligning education, credentials, and employer needs, we are supporting workforce development, improving access to care, and driving sustainable regional growth.”

Located in one of the region’s most active healthcare corridors, the Bioscience Center places students within view of the Cincinnati skyline—and within reach of the employers and communities they are preparing to serve.
