Butler Tech is proud to celebrate two exceptional leaders who have been recognized by the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education (Ohio ACTE) with two of the organization’s highest honors.
Director of Student Services Tony Huff has been named Ohio ACTE Administrator of the Year, while Board of Education President Brett Guido has been named Ohio ACTE Board Member of the Year. Together, these prestigious awards recognize two leaders whose vision, advocacy and commitment continue to shape the future of career technical education in Ohio and beyond.

Sprankles III, CEO and Superintendent of Butler Tech. “Together, they have helped shape opportunities that are transforming lives for our students while positioning Butler Tech as a national leader in career technical education.”
Tony Huff: Champion for Every Student
As Director of Student Services, Huff leads one of Butler Tech’s most comprehensive departments, overseeing special education, Section 504 services, English learner programs, Title IX compliance and transition services across the district. Throughout his career, he has remained steadfast in one belief: every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.
His leadership has expanded access to inclusive career technical education while strengthening systems that support students with diverse learning needs. Under his guidance, Butler Tech’s nationally recognized Project LIFE program has grown from a local initiative into a model replicated by more than 50 teams across the United States and Canada, creating meaningful opportunities for students with disabilities to gain real-world employment experiences and greater independence.
The Ohio ACTE Administrator of the Year honor adds to an extraordinary year of recognition for Huff. Earlier this year, he received the national Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) CTE for All Division Outstanding Contributions Award and was recognized by Butler Tech as its Administrator of the Year.

Brett Guido: A Visionary Advocate for Career Technical Education
For 17 years, Brett Guido has served on the Butler Tech Board of Education, helping guide the district through an era of unprecedented growth and innovation.
Throughout his tenure, Guido has helped establish the strategic vision that has resulted in transformative investments across the district, including the development and expansion of the Natural Science Center, Aviation Education Center, Advanced Manufacturing Hub and Bioscience Center. These projects are expanding opportunities for students while strengthening the region’s workforce for generations to come.
As Board President, Guido understands the important role of governance—setting the district’s strategic direction while empowering Butler Tech’s leadership team to implement innovative solutions that best serve students and the community. His collaborative leadership style, steady support and unwavering focus on students have helped position Butler Tech as one of the nation’s premier career technical education districts.
Beyond Butler Tech, Guido has become a respected advocate for career technical education at the local, state and national levels. He regularly meets with legislators in Columbus and Washington, D.C., champions policies that strengthen career technical education, and represents Butler Tech at student organizations, educational conferences and community events. Whether attending CTSO competitions, visiting classrooms or even donating blood to support Butler Tech’s Phlebotomy students, Guido consistently demonstrates his commitment to students and their success.
“Brett has steadfastly supported career technical education as a Butler Tech Board member, and now Board President, for 17 years,” said Kristen AbuDakar, Assistant Superintendent. “His impact extends far beyond Butler Tech, influencing career technical education across Ohio and at the national level through his support of meaningful legislative change and advocacy.”
