Celebrating Success at the SkillsUSA State Competition

Update

We are thrilled to share the outstanding achievements of Butler Tech students at the recent SkillsUSA state competitions held in Columbus. Representing the excellence of nearly 400,000 career and technical education students nationwide, our students showcased their talents and skills across various disciplines.

  • Colerain:  14 competitors across 7 competitions, securing 4 third-place finishes.
  • Hamilton:  3 competitors in 2 competitions.
  • Northwest:  1 competitor in 1 competition.
  • D. Russel Lee:  63 competitors in 25 competitions, clinching 6 first-place, 4 second-place, and 2 third-place victories.
  • School of the Arts:  5 competitors in 1 competition, winning a second-place award.

Additionally, our Butler Tech DRL Color Guard team made us proud by presenting the colors at the Awards Ceremony, earning an invitation to return next year.

  • Janeesa Miller, Leigha Kayser, Cheyenne Sutton – 3rd place in Career Pathways Showcase – Human Services

School of the Arts:

  • Adilee Schuckman – 2nd place in Art Show

D. Russel Lee:

  • Justin Hoerndorf – 3rd place in Welding Sculpture

  • Alan Almagaur – 3rd place in Barbering

  • Izaiah Thomas – 2nd place in Barbering

  • Devin Jackson, Nolen Wagers, Nathan Graham – 2nd place in Automated Manufacturing

  • Caden Jones – 1st place in Firefighting -Continuing a 6-year streak of excellence!

  • Myrissa Combs & Lauryn Boone – 1st place in EMT

  • Blake Owens, Jayden Mitchell & Halie Rakes – 1st place in Career Pathways Showcase – Human Services
