Established in 1975, the black and white logo of Butler Technology and Career Development Schools conveys its commitment to education. About the emblem: it features a crest with gears, an atomic model, and an open book, all surrounded by laurel leaves and stars.

DECA Earn State Honors and Qualify for International Competition

Please join us in congratulating our Butler Tech DECA students on an incredible performance at the Ohio DECA State Career Development Conference.

A total of 117 Butler Tech students competed, representing their home schools with professionalism, preparation, and pride. Their efforts resulted in 28 students qualifying for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia this April.

An especially exciting highlight from the week was six state champions, with first-place finishes earned by students representing D. Russell Lee, Ross, and Colerain.

We also celebrate outstanding student leadership within Ohio DECA.

Sarah Johnston (Ross) was elected as a new State Officer

We also celebrate two Butler Tech programs earning national recognition for their School-Based Enterprises:

Qualifying for ICDC is an extraordinary accomplishment. These students demonstrated exceptional business knowledge, critical thinking, preparation, and professionalism while competing against top students from across the state.

Finally, a special thank you to our DECA advisors Rocky Chasteen, Phil Leisure, Michelle McKinney, Kyle Tudor, and Yufang Van Gaasbeek, as well as Tracy Turney-Smith and Amy Miller, for their dedication, mentorship, and continued support in preparing our students for success.
