Three slides. Three minutes. One partnership helping connect Butler Tech students with the companies and opportunities growing across the Cincinnati region.
REDI Cincinnati was recognized during the September Butler Tech Board of Education meeting as the second organization featured through the district’s 3 Slides in 3 Minutes Business Partner Spotlight, an initiative highlighting partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for students.
Kevin Donnelly, Vice President of Project Management, and Adam Jones, Director of Regional Talent, shared how REDI Cincinnati works to attract and support growing companies across a 15-county region spanning southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana.
For Butler Tech students, that work can lead directly to opportunity.
When REDI Cincinnati works with a company considering moving to or expanding in the region, one of the biggest questions is whether that company will be able to find skilled employees. That’s where Butler Tech can help.
REDI Cincinnati regularly connects companies with Butler Tech, bringing business leaders into district facilities to see firsthand how students are preparing for careers and how Butler Tech can help meet emerging workforce needs.
One example is Butler Tech’s current Good Manufacturing Practice, or cGMP, training program. The no-cost program helps prepare participants for opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry through a combination of classroom, online and hands-on lab instruction.
The partnership has also helped Butler Tech access resources to expand opportunities for students. During the Board presentation, district leaders shared examples of REDI Cincinnati identifying funding opportunities, helping Butler Tech prepare competitive applications and connecting the district with companies looking for talent.
Those relationships are producing real results. Companies connected to Butler Tech through REDI Cincinnati have toured district facilities, worked with programs and hired Butler Tech students.
“REDI Cincinnati is genuinely committed to changing the landscape,” Butler Tech Superintendent/CEO William Sprankles said during the recognition. “I cannot tell you the value of what that does for all of our students.”
For REDI Cincinnati, connecting companies with the people and resources they need helps strengthen the region’s economy. For Butler Tech, the partnership creates another bridge between students preparing for their futures and employers looking for their future workforce.
