Families looking for support with meals and groceries this summer can take advantage of SUN Programs, USDA’s Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids, designed to help students stay healthy, fueled and ready for summer activities.
Through SUN Meals, students 18 and under can receive free meals at eligible meal sites throughout the summer months. In select rural communities, SUN Meals To-Go options may also be available through pickup or delivery services. In addition, eligible families may qualify for SUN Bucks, providing $120 per school-aged student to help purchase nutritious foods including fresh fruits, vegetables and pantry staples.
These programs help ensure students continue to have access to healthy meals while school is out and provide added support for families during the summer season.
