Enroll and Succeed at Butler Tech Adult Education
Start your career journey with one of Butler Tech’s 40+ short-term, career-focused programs designed for adults. Our programs—ranging from 2 weeks to 11 months—offer daytime or evening options and lead to state and nationally recognized credentials in high-demand, high-paying fields like healthcare, skilled trades, public safety, and technology.

Butler Tech Adult Education Enrollment Information
The majority of Butler Tech Adult Education programs are open enrollment—seats are secured upon submitting all the satisfactory enrollment requirements on a first-come, first-served basis.
In contrast, the LPN to RN Bridge Program is competitive and requires submission of a complete application by the stated deadline. Admission is determined by a review committee.

Enrollment into several Butler Tech Adult Education programs require a readiness assessment. Students enrolling in programs requiring a readiness assessment must meet the benchmark scores provided in the enrollment checklist with an ACT WorkKeys, ASVAB, ACT, or SAT. You may also show proof of an associate, bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution.
Test scores are valid for five (5) years.
Submit the required material from one of the following readiness assessment options below:
ACT WorkKeys®
The WorkKeys is comprised of three subjects (Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy). It is the most common readiness assessment for enrollment at Butler Tech.

Take the ACT WorkKeys® assessment with Butler Tech or with an area career center. Schedule a time to take WorkKeys® at Butler Tech LeSourdsville Campus or call 513-645-8200.

The Aspire program offers free in-person tutoring for the ACT WorkKeys® assessments at several locations and time frames, including Butler Tech LeSourdsville. Contact Aspire at 513.894.0301
Schedule a time to take WorkKeys® at Butler Tech LeSourdsville Campus or call 513-645-8200.
- Cost: $78 for all three subjects, plus 1 retake of each needed subject. After the first section re-take, it is $26 per section.
- Register for your assessment at least three business days in advance.
- There are three sections to the assessment. You can take all three in one day or choose to take them one at a time.
- Each section takes about 55 minutes to complete.
- You must bring a photo ID when you take the exam.
- You may use a standard calculator during the exam.
- Arrive 10 – 15 minutes early. If you are late, you will have to reschedule.
- No family members or children are permitted in the exam room.
- The test score is good for 5 years.
ASVAB
The ASVAB is an entrance assessment used for military service that may have been taken in high school or during the recruitment process. Candidates will receive an overall military entrance score (AFQT) that can be used for the readiness assessment requirement.

ACT
The ACT is a nationally recognized college entrance exam that measures college readiness.

If you no longer have your score report, you can login to your account at myact.org
SAT
The SAT is a nationally recognized college entrance exam that measures college readiness.
Required Document:
SAT Score Report showing students name and total score.
How to Obtain Your Scores:
If you no longer have your score report, you can request your SAT scores through sat.org/scorereport.
Completed Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Associate, Bachelor’s degree or higher earned in the U.S. satisfies the readiness assessment requirement for programs.
Required Document:
Official transcript showing your earned degree
How to Obtain Proof of Completion:
Request an official transcript be sent to adulteducation@butlertech.org or your program secretary.
- Several programs require a high school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) for enrollment. The following materials will be accepted for this requirement:
- Copy of a high-school diploma or transcript that indicates graduation date
- Copy of HSE/GED completion
- Copy of U.S. university transcript or diploma indicating a completed associates or bachelor’s degree
HSE/GEDs copies can be requested at diplomasender.comForeign high school diplomas/transcripts must be officially evaluated by a recognized NACES member. The evaluation must be submitted to your Butler Tech program secretary. Educational Credential Evaluators is a popular option.Need HSE/GED classes and test information? Class dates and location are subject to change. Students enrolled in a class that is postponed, moved, or canceled will be notified as soon as possible.

Official Withdrawal Policy
Students who wish to withdraw from a fulltime program must complete the appropriate paperwork with the program coordinator or supervisor and the Student Services office.
Full Time Program Refund Policy
- After the first 50% of the enrollment period: No Refund
- On or before 50% of the enrollment period: 25%
- On or before 25% of the enrollment period: 50%
- On or before 10% of the enrollment period: 90%
- On or before the first day of class: 100%
The student’s last recorded date of attendance is the basis for all calculations.

Butler Tech Adult Education is approved and operated in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Higher Education. It is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education; 7840 Roswell Road, Building 300, Suite 325; Atlanta GA 30350.
The Practical Nursing program is approved by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
The Basic Police Academy is approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy.
The Paramedic program and Fire Rescue Academy are approved by the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of EMS.
The Paramedic program is additionally accredited by CoAEMSP; 8301 Lakeview Parkway, Suite 111-312, Rowlett, TX 75088.
All full time adult programs are approved by the State Approving Agency for Veterans Training.

Access your Achademix online student portal. You can also download the Achademix Connect App (available for iPhone and Android devices in the app store).
- Set up your Account with the email address associated with your Butler Tech profile.
- Use the navigation panel on the left to access your student profile, view your enrollment checklist and documents, make payments, view attendance and grade information, and more.
- To make a payment, click the “Account” tab in the navigation panel and select the charges you’d like to pay as shown below.
- Another screen will come up to enter your credit card information and confirm the payment.
