Medical Assisting

Become a medical assistant and be on the front line of patient care in one of the fastest growing occupations in the healthcare field. As a medical assistant, you will be a central member of the healthcare team.

The Butler Tech Medical Assisting program trains you to take on the variety of important tasks performed by a medical assistant including how to correctly perform both administrative and clinical tasks in the medical office, take medical histories, record vital signs, and explain treatment procedures to patients as well as assist the healthcare provider during medical exams. Additionally, medical assistants may perform basic lab tests, draw blood and give electrocardiograms (EKGs) and understand and demonstrate the knowledge of the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare confidentiality.

Full Time | 900 hours | M – F | 8 am – 3:30 pm

Upcoming classes: Aug. 5, 2019 – Feb. 14, 2020 | Feb. 19, – Aug. 14, 2020

This includes 100 class days and 25 externship days

Industry Recognized Credentials

Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to take the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and be credentialed through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Salary Range

2018 Median Pay (Bureau of Labor Statistics): $33,610 per year | $16.16 per hour
