Required Materials & Supplies:

  • Immunizations/vaccines required in preparation for clinical hours
  • $50        Complete a background check at the LeSourdsville Campus in preparation for clinical hours.
  • $48 ea.  Purchase two sets of scrubs. Students will be fitted at orientation and get to keep them after the program.
  • $15         CNA workbook that the student keeps.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
As a valuable member of the healthcare team, Certified Nursing Assistants support licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) in providing essential patient care. They focus on daily living activities and personal care for patients, working in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home healthcare environments.

Phlebotomy
Phlebotomists specialize in the clinical practice of blood collection, performing technical procedures, and managing associated clerical tasks, all of which are essential for various diagnostic processes.

Course Work

This combined one-semester Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) and Phlebotomy program provides students with a comprehensive blend of skills through classroom instruction, hands-on clinical practice, and laboratory techniques. Tailored for high school seniors, this dual-certification course ensures students are well-prepared for careers in various healthcare settings.

Credentials

Upon completion, students will be prepared to take the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam, administered by the Ohio Department of Health, as well as the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), achieving dual certification. Additionally, students will earn CPR certification.
