State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) – Spring 2025

Schedule & Details: 

  • New programs will start quarterly in January 2025 and March 2025
  • Students follow Butler Tech High School Campus Calendar
  • 8:00 am – 10:30 am
  • 16 hours of clinical time to be completed in the last month of the term

Our STNA program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive skill set that seamlessly integrates into their school day, ensuring they are well-prepared for the dynamic field of healthcare.

This quarterly State Tested Nurse Aide program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical practice, ensuring students gain the comprehensive skills needed to excel.
State Tested Nurse Aides (STNA) are valuable members of the nursing team who perform a number of patient care duties under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN). An STNA plays a vital role in providing daily living services to patients in long-term care facilities and through home healthcare. Focused on patient care coursework and clinical duties, this program is designed to prepare high school juniors and seniors for a rewarding career as a healthcare professional.

  • No tuition cost. Traditional fees for uniforms and textbooks apply. Instructor will provide pricing.
  • Clinical hours are required to complete this program.
  • Students must take their academic courses online or at their current high school.
  • Combined credentials meet the high school graduation requirement.
  • The home school counselor must sign off on the student’s high school graduation plan.
  • Students must provide their own transportation and meals.
  • Continuing Education opportunities are available through Butler Tech’s Adult Education programming after high school graduation.

The curriculum covers patient care including:

  • Monitoring vitals
  • Dispensing medication
  • Movement and transport
  • Feeding and grooming

Credentials

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to take the State Tested Nurse Aide Exam and be licensed through the Ohio Department of Health.
