Biomedical Science is a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program designed to stimulate interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects.
Students in PLTW Biomedical Science will learn about diseases, forensics, DNA and how medical devices and advances in bioengineering are changing the face of healthcare.
All students receive First Aid/CPR certification in their junior year. Students also have the opportunity to receive additional certifications such as a Pharmacy Technician if chosen as a capstone course. Most students in this program advance their education at a two- or four-year college upon graduation. UC Health West Chester Hospital and local biomedical companies offer the opportunity for students to job shadow or complete internships.
