As more baby boomers reach retirement age, there is an increased need for healthcare providers. Butler Tech Healthcare Science gives students a foundation for any career on the patient side of healthcare and offers the opportunity to explore the many career options available today.
Healthcare Science is for students who want to earn an associate or bachelor’s degree in the health field after high school. This program gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and earn college credit while still in high school.

All students receive First Aid/CPR certification in their junior year. By the completion of the program, students may earn certification as a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) or in Phlebotomy. There are many career options: directly entering the workforce, continuing education or both. Butler Tech adult education programs help students earn their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
During both junior and senior years, students will have the opportunity to participate in career exploration and job shadowing at area medical institutions, such as UC Health West Chester Hospital, Atrium Medical Center and Butler County Care facilities.
Each student has the potential of earning up to 60 college credit hours. Scholarships to colleges are available upon successful completion of this program.
Healthcare Science is a full time program for high school juniors and seniors. Students will apply during sophomore year.
