Butler Tech Celebrates 3 U.S. Presidential Scholar Nominees in Career Technical Education!

Butler Tech is thrilled to announce that three of the five Ohio nominees for the U.S. Presidential Scholar designation in Career Technical Education (CTE) are Butler Tech students! This extraordinary achievement highlights the talent and dedication of our students and the transformative power of career technical education.

The nominees are:

Maryam Tunkara

Program: PLTW Biomedical Science at Butler Tech Bioscience Center (Lakota West)

Accomplishments: Perfect 36 ACT score, 4.6 GPA, top 15 placement at HOSA International Leadership Conference, Phlebotomy certification in progress, and leadership in multiple student organizations.

Program: Business Management at Ross High School

Accomplishments: Ranked #1 in class with a 4.967 GPA, ACT Superscore of 35, DECA Vice President of Finance, two-time state champion, founder of a mobile food pantry through JEE Foods, and dedicated community servant.

Program: Sports Medicine at Lakota East High School

Accomplishments: HOSA Sports Medicine President, National Honors Society member, over 50 hours of career-based learning, and resilient overcoming of personal challenges.

 

 

Butler Tech students represent 60% of the Ohio nominees, a clear testament to the rigorous programs, dedicated instructors, and hands-on opportunities available. These students embody leadership, academic excellence, and a commitment to community impact, setting a standard of excellence.
