Butler Tech FFA members from Edgewood, Ross, and Talawanda were busy this summer finalizing their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects with a culmination of representation and awards at the Butler County Fair. From the poultry show to the horse arena and everywhere in between, Butler Tech FFA chapters were well represented by our students across the fairgrounds. Additionally, the members presented to approximately 50 Butler Tech staff, community members, family, and friends showing them around the fair and educating them on their long-term projects.
“SAE projects are high-quality experiential learning opportunities for our students,” explained Kari Roberts, Butler Tech Agriculture Education teacher at Talawanda High School. “They are work or project-based experiences involved in agriculture where students are placed with an employer, or they have ventured into entrepreneurship. Many of the SAEs exhibited at the Butler County Fair started many months or years ago for the members with breeding or equine. FFA members gain valuable life skills through each SAE that they use now & in their future careers.”
