Evin Smith, Junior, Earns 2nd at SkillsUSA National Firefighting Championships

Update

Congratulations to junior, Evin Smith, who placed 2nd in the SkillsUSA National Firefighting competition held in Atalanta, Georgia. Evin is from Hamilton High School and just completed his first year of the Firefighting program at D. Russel Lee.

Evin Smith, Butler Tech

The SkillsUSA Championships hosted more than 6,500 outstanding career and technical education students –– all state contest winners –– who competed hands-on in 108 different trade, technical, and leadership fields. Students worked against the clock and each other, proving their expertise in occupations such as electronics, computer-aided drafting, precision machining, medical assisting, and culinary arts. Contests are run with the help of industry, trade associations, and labor organizations, and test competencies are set by industry.

This is the fourth year in a row that Richard Hall and Butler Tech have had a national competitor in the Firefighting competition!
