The Butler Tech 3-Year Teacher Pathway is designed for students who are passionate about education and want to make a difference in the lives of others. Through a partnership with Miami University’s College of Education, Health, and Society, students gain hands-on experience in real classrooms and have the opportunity to earn college credit through College Credit Plus. This pathway is a 3-year Butler Tech program commitment that offers students the opportunity to earn the equivalent of 1 year towards a Miami University education degree. Beginning in 10th grade, students take courses taught by credentialed Butler Tech instructors and learn the same strategies, tools, and practices used by today’s professional educators. Students will complete field placements in local schools, working alongside licensed teachers, and lead lessons on their own. Graduates of the program leave high school with valuable classroom experience, college credit, and guaranteed admission to Miami University’s College of Education, Health, and Society.
College Tech Prep
The Butler Tech 3-Year Teacher Pathway is a College Tech Prep program that blends college-level academics with hands-on teaching experience, preparing students for success in higher education and the classroom. Students gain advanced skills in communication, leadership, and instructional technology while earning college credit and developing the professional habits of future educators. Through College Credit Plus (CCP) courses offered in partnership with Miami University and other institutions, students begin building their college transcript while still in high school. They may also earn Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG) credits that transfer to Ohio universities.
