Butler Tech Board of Education will vote on a 2019-2020 school calendar proposal for the Butler Tech main high school campuses, February 19, 2019. The calendar proposal includes a four-day school week for students and teachers beginning in February 2020.
The innovative calendar includes 14, four-day school weeks for students and teachers on Butler Tech secondary campuses beginning February 7, 2020. For students, Fridays will become “The Fifth Day Experience” allowing students to use the off-day to personalize their own learning and growth outside of the traditional classroom.
The students will be responsible for personalizing their own Friday activities. Butler Tech plans to offer options to students for “The Fifth Day Experience” with suggested opportunities including additional certifications, internships, job shadowing, college visits, drivers’ education and more.
